Return to Vulture's Roost... Planning a Wedding ~

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and say Welcome to new followers ~

It has been so long let me catch you up on our story ~
We are getting ready for the wedding of Hattie and the Count ~ We have been waiting for the Count to arrive for  months, Hattie is secretly very worried that he has disappeared ~
Hattie has tried to cast a spell to bring him but it just brought bats ~  Hattie has not heard a word from him in two months and is trying to keep a brave face about the whole matter ~ Marie and Carlanne are trying to help with the wedding plans so Hattie will leave and life can get back to normal ~ So we are planning a wedding.
Marie has called a wedding planner... meet Katrina the wedding planner ~

Hattie, Carlanne and Marie meet with Katrina. Hattie likes this, Katrina has Champagne. Katrina tells them she will handle the whole affair. They decide on the food, invitations and guest list. All Hattie has to do is pick her dress, Hattie tells everyone she will be the most beautiful bride in history and she is sure The New York Times will run a front page story on the nuptials ~
Marie and Carlanne drop off Hattie at Simone's when they are done, a little Hattie goes a long way ~

Back at Simone's Hattie goes up to the loft and gazes at her reflection in the mirror ~ The little story that follows was written by my friend Maria ~
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, a beautiful witchling was born.  As was tradition, her 6 fairy witch mothers were given the duty of naming the babe.  With that said, you are the first to hear our bride-to-be’s full spell-given name.  Haggaleana Amphibiana Tactlessa Tattoomama Indelabella Esmeralda.  She is known as Hattie for short.
As the formative years passed, young Hattie became an indescribable witch herself. Most often she gazed into the mirror for hours admiring the image that lovingly stared back.  She was actually the first to coin the phrase, “Mirror, mirror on the wall… who’s the fairest of them all?”
To Hattie’s joy, her Warlock father arranged Nuptials between his daughter and a visiting Count.  After blowing her betrothed a quick kiss, Hattie raced off to begin planning her trousseau.  The Count returned to his own home to announce the news to his family.
I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did ~ Thank you so much Maria!

Simone and Nigel can hear Hattie in the loft talking to herself ~ " I hope the Count arrives soon, I can't take much more of Hattie" Simone tells Nigel ~

As promised here are some pictures of the outside of Simone's cabin ~

This is the chimney that took weeks to build. It is a wood  box that I built covered with egg carton stones. I grouted and painted the "stones".

This is the bear climbing out the chimney ~ this being a hunting lodge in it's former life the bear was fitting ~ I think I am going to leave him ~

Back at Vulture's Roost on the Vulture Terrace we seem to have a trouble brewing............

I thought I would end today's post with a picture of a WIP. This is a potion cupboard I am making for myself ~ I found the cupboard at a yard sale for 1.00 last summer. It is bigger than one inch scale, I have made a few things for it and will add more as time allows. I even put Annie's baby teeth in a little jar and made a label for it, what else do you do with puppy teeth?

I will be back soon with another tale of Vulture's Roost ~

Until then.....

None of the people in this story are real ~
People are never real except after midnight ~

A Vulture's Roost Merry Christmas.....

We wish you a Very Merry Christmas ~

Happy Holidays from all of us at Vulture's Roost ~ It snowed at Vulture's Roost, it must be the magic of Christmas ~

I thought I would show you a picture of my daughter's Christmas present,  I have been working on this for a week. We are only making handmade presents for each other this year.

I had no idea what to make until I saw this flask bottle in the cupboard, I have never  embellished a big bottle so this was a new venue for me. I really like how it turned out and I think she will like it too. I used vintage glass jewels and cabochons, vintage stampings and lots of found treasures ~ I used Gallery Glass in lime green to color my bottle, I like to make drips with it LOL.

This is a back view of the bottle. I filled it with peacock feathers, I left a clear frame so she could see the feathers.
This is my last post for 2011 ~ I wish you all a Healthy and Prosperous New Year ~

Hugs,
Victoria

Christmas is coming to Vulture's Roost.........

Happy Sunday Friends....

I walked out into the room where my doll houses are displayed this morning and couldn't believe my eyes...Vulture's Roost was all decked out for Christmas! I haven't decorated my house this year and had not planned to decorate my doll houses either...it seems that Marie and Nigel didn't agree with me ~

I walked up for a closer look....Vulture's Roost was all decked out! ~

I never would have thought that the inhabitants of a haunted house would want to decorate for Christmas ~  I see Nigel found my decorations for the old doll house and some garlands and wreaths from Wootens Miniatures  ~

I think Nigel and Marie did a Beautiful job decorating the mansion ~

Nigel even put up Christmas lights ~

Lucas looks quite pleased with the Holiday decor ~

My biggest shock was when I looked in the parlor ~ they had put up a tree and decorations, there were even presents ~ someone had even hung the beautiful drapes on the window ~  Thank you Linda for the beautiful drapes, they fit the window perfectly!

Merry Christmas from Vulture's Roost ~

May your Holidays be Merry and Bright ~

I will be back later in the week with more Christmas cheer ~

Hugs,
Victoria

Halloween Trees

Today I would like to talk about Halloween Trees and Thank Wendy the Very Good Witch for  this wonderful box of goodies I won on her blog The Halloween Tree ~ Wendy only blogs this time of year in celebration of  Autumn ~ I encourage you to visit Wendy's blog to see her fabulous home decorated to the nines for Halloween ~
When I won her drawing for the book The Halloween Tree I was working on a commission of bottles for a Halloween Tree ~ As I made the bottles for her tree I started thinking about my own tree sitting naked and dusty ~ My customer wanted me to make ornaments for another small tree in her Halloween Party box so I started on those all the while  thinking this all had a connection ~ I had to start my own Halloween Tree ~
A Big Thank You to Wendy for the Wonderful box of goodies ~ Now lets look at some Halloween trees ~
This black feather tree belongs to Cathy Foley ~ I have lost my notes but think it is 18 inches tall, maybe Cathy will pop in and correct me if I am wrong ~ I love how the bottles and bulbs shine, Cathy did an excellent job decorating this tree ~
This is Cathy's one inch scale tree she was going to put in her room box but decided to put it under a dome instead to display at her husband's office for Halloween ~ Ornaments made by me, Cathy made the presents and tree skirt and Grim Kim created the spooky Jack in the boxes and voodoo doll ~ Cathy put it altogether on this base, I think she did an Awesome job ~
This is my poor tree so far, not too impressive ~ I have more skulls glittered and drying  and a few more ornaments in the works ~ I will post another picture on Monday's post of my finished tree ~

Spider bottle ~ don't look Maria LOL ~

Owl bottle ~

Skull bottle ~

A Vampire bottle ~

Thank you for dropping by and don't forget to come back on Monday for my Halloween Vulture's Roost post and to see the winner of the Pirate Scrolls, who knows it could be you ~
