The Top Floor

First I want to comment that I have reached that magic 50 readers and say Thank You. I never thought when I started this blog that more than 10 or 15 people would be interested. Welcome Cheri ( Art2ArtColorado on Etsy) who is a wonderful digital and mixed media artist and Sharon. I will post about the give away in the next day or two. We had a great weekend at Secret Squirrel, April sold 5 paintings in her little art show on the porch. Only one lady was rude about her art which is sad, somethings are better left to yourself.

Now to the rest of Folly...
The top floor has 3 rooms. First the music room which wasn't planned, I was gifted with a piano so I stuck it in an empty room. I then made chairs, tables and pictures. I don't know if I will keep this a music room in the remodel or not. Next is the bathroom which is my favorite room. Just like in my house I went all out on this room. The corner tub and commode are black and came in a set. I bought the sink separably and jammed it with bottles. I made the monogrammed towels from a thin t shirt. The rug is made with a printie from Jim's pages if I remember right. I made the pictures, plants and poppies growing in the Cinnabar lid.
Last is the bedroom. Not liking this room much. I hate the wall paper and light that I crafted from a ping pong ball. The hatboxes, stool, perfume bottles, pictures, pillows and Egyptian vases were made by me. I would like to age this furniture, I now know I don't like new looking any thing except puppies.

I feel this was a little boring but this house bores me to tears.

  4. I had to laugh when I read how this house bores you to tears. I have my fair share of getting tired of houses. I wonder if I will feel the same way with my tribal house one day when now, it seems every piece I do is such an important milestone. :)

But I am sick of my tent, the tent that I once love. Maybe it's the same feeling. :). If it is, then there is not much choice but to destroy and rebuild. You do have some wonderful pieces, you know. Must not throw away anything.

I too can't stand anything shiny and new :).

  5. Sounds like you cant wait to give that house a real good makeover Victoria!! The decoration looks cool, maybe just jiggle things around and add more of your new miniatures to it and you'll get more excited by it again! I love the mucis room! Glad the art sale went well, you always get one dont you that spoils things a little. Hope her comments went over your heads and you go on to sell more! Kate xx

  6. I love the music room, did you know that you can use polymer clay transfers as material. there are some tutorials on youtube/and the web about it. *this is me meddling again*

as for the rude woman, the poor thing obviously lacked class and taste, pity her *a quick push off the porch would solve the problem*

  8. Sans! so glad you understand. Every house I have built I didn't like it down the road. I still like the shape and front opening. I don't like the fact that there are no windows, but then you can't hang as many pictures.I also have a log lodge and a conservatory that I don't like. I have already started on the conservatory by clearing everything out of it. I have the table set for sale in my Etsy vintage shop where I put my mini's pre dark squirrel. You really make me think Sans!maybe we are just growing.

  9. Kate I really can't wait now that I have posted the pictures and looked at them with new eyes. I will probably do the conservatory first as it is a smaller project and I will be sure to share on this blog. April is so happy selling 5 paintings and has just been accepted to a show at a gallery in Denver, she was chosen out of 3 Wyoming artists.

  10. Thank you Marisa. I actually looked at some little ovens to cure clay, I am still undecided. I don't think the rude woman bothered April much because the husband and daughter really like her paintings hee hee. I will check out the tutorials on you tube.

    Take Care

  11. Para no estar planeada la sala de música, has hecho un gran trabajo y del piano solitario has pasado a una preciosidad de detalles y decoración.
    Besos Clara.
