Bog Schnargle and sick dragons ~

When we left you Marie was hurrying to answer the door. Who is the strange little creature at the door?

"I am so relieved you have come, hurry we must get upstairs to the Dragon room. The Doctor is already here and nothing he has tried has worked, the poor dragons are sick and I fear the worst. Hurry Oliver !!!

Upstairs in the Dragon room Oliver examines the sick dragons. Oliver asks Marie how long the dragons have been in this state of ill health, Marie explains it started about the time Hattie started working at 3 Moons Potions and Notions. What could this have to do with the dragons being sick?

The poor dragons have not ate in days and just lay huddled together, they seem so sad.

Viviane looks like she is going to cry. Stay tuned as the mystery unfolds.

Thank you Irina! and Giveaway reminder ~

I received a surprise package from Irina who's blog is Narina Napertaa. When I opened the package I found a Christmas wrapped box with a note on top. I was glad to read it was a  joke not to open till December 23. If you know me you will know it would send me to a real asylum if I had a package I had to wait that long to open :)

The wrapping had bears! And Irina wrote me a real letter, I have not had a real letter since my Great Aunt died, what a treat.

I tore open the package to find a box, I had already read in the letter that this was a wedding gift for Hattie. 

In the box for Hattie was a bag of...........

Hattie's gifts! She loves everything Irina!

The package contained these sweet books, this one is Healing Herbs

It opens and you can actually read the pages! Beautiful work Irina!

This book as beautiful as the first. Thank you so much Irina, Hattie had nothing of her own. This is a nice start to her household.

Drawing for Owls and Dragons and a little history lesson.

This week I am having a drawing for Owls and Dragons, this will conclude the drawings until Halloween when we will draw for one of Kat's hat blanks decorated by me. All the names from this months drawings will be added to the drawing so if you have entered every drawing you have 5 chances to win.

I got a few comments on this strange visitor at the door so I thought I would explain his costume or clothing . This costume is a replica of a Plaque Doctors outfit actually worn by Doctors in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The costume was made by a UK artist who uses the name KC. I have provided a little history from Wikipedia below.

A plague doctor  was a special medical physician who saw those who had the bubonic plague. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection. The protective suit consisted of a heavy fabric overcoat that was waxed. A wooden cane pointer was used to help examine the patient without touching. A little story and some Winners ~

Good Evening! I first have a silly little story and then the winners of draw # 4. Thank you for your kind comments, I am feeling a bit more human today. Annie has been out in the compost pile eating cucumber peels so life is good LOL. On to my story and then the Winners, I know you will just scroll down to check first but that is fine with me. On with our story...

When we were last at 3 Moons Hattie was stuck on the roof. Nigel scaled the wall and grabbed Hatttie from the roof. Safe inside the shop we find out the young witches made Hattie's broom disappear  from under her when she was taking a little ride. Young witches and wizards are not allowed to practice magic until they are throughly schooled. Bad news for Tiffany and Ella , Minerva was there to witness this little faux pau...oh my. Nigel makes sure Hattie is intact after falling 100's of feet from the sky.

Minerva gives the young witches a good talking to...hope this sinks in.

Tiffany and Ella apologize to Hattie and promise they will never do this again... Hattie assures the girls she was once a young witch and having a wand and knowing spells is mighty tempting.

At Vulture's Roost there is a strange person at the door, I hope he isn't wearing this because I have a cold. Stay tuned to see who knocks at the door.........

Zombies and Werewolves and Witches too...oh my

Good Evening Everyone! Sorry I disappeared for a few days, I have been fighting a mild cold/flu and haven't been up to par. I failed to post the date for the Owl drawing....sorry. The Owl Drawing will be tomorrow evening, we will also be drawing for a House of Miniatures desk kit donated by Wooten Miniatures. Now on to the Zombies and Werewolves :)

Lets start with Werewolves also know as Lycanthrope. This is Nigel my wolf I made, he isn't really a Werewolf in fact I used my dog as a model to sculpt him. Nigel has a cousin who is a Werewolf.

Remember Winston Nigel's cousin? Now this is a Werewolf LOL. My daughter gifted me with Winston, I am a sucker for auction figures. Many unusual characters will be attending Hattie and The Count's wedding.

Werewolves have such a bad rap, I am so glad mine are friendly :)

Every year at this time I try to make a Werewolf potion collection, this is this years Lycanthrope collection available in my etsy shop Dark Squirrel. Only 3 will be made of this collection.

One of my favorite shows is Walking Dead so you will always find Zombie bottles in my shop, I think I have one of these left. I really don't like a lot of blood and gore and am more of an old school horror fan, maybe because I am old LOL.

Let's Draw for Owls!

Drawing #4 will be an Owl package. The winner will receive an owl book, stack of aged owl papers, owl pictures, candles, some charms, a unicorn horn, a scroll and beautiful leaves made by friend Cathy Foley who makes them from real leaves!
