I hope everyone is off to a good start for 2011. I have been working on this Greenleaf Rosemont for the last 2 weeks. It has been my dream to build a haunted house to display my growing collection of dark miniatures. I looked at lots of doll houses before I decided to go with this house. My new house needed to be small, fast and easy to assemble. I had a budget of 100.00 from the sale of my conservatory. I started checking and found Lazar cut houses by Greenleaf with FREE SHIPPING! Building doll houses is not my forte, I have built 5 so I know my limitations. I have got to say this is the easiest house I have ever built, almost no sanding and it is easy to punch out. I used spackle inside and out and am still working on the color, I ran out of white paint which I am dabbing on the gray outside. I want it to look old and spooky. I don't have a name for it yet so maybe I will have a contest to name it.

Happy New Year Victoria! Is fantastic, I love it! I think you can use your own nick, The Dark Squirrel Mansion... greetings
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shaped kit and I love how you have done it too. I've seen it available in the UK (one of very few Greenleaf kits one can buy overhere).
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

What a great house! My idea is similar to PAKY's idea, but instead of mansion, I like manor better. Dark Squirrel Manor or DS Manor. The colors you have chosen remind me of Malfoy Manor from Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteThank you PAKY and Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle, I wish I had the patience that you do with your building.
Thanks Lori, I do like Dark Squirrel Manor. It seems that everything in my life is squirrels.

Thats a really gorgeous design and youve put it up so well and quickly! Love the layout, and that wonderful huge attice room, and this will really exciting to see how you decorate and fill it! In Frasier one of my fav programmes theres an episode called Nightmare Inn, so I like that name for a spooky house , or Nightmare Manor. Kate xxx
